Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited ("Lukfook" or the "Group") (Stock Code: 0590) is pleased to announce that the Group has once again received the "ESG Pledge" from The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong this year, recognised the Group's active participation in and promotion of environmental, social and corporate governance ("ESG") performance, as well as its commitment to building a sustainable future together with society.
Mr. Wong Wai Sheung, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Group, said, "The Group firmly believes that effective sustainability governance is a key factor in driving its success and value, and has consistently allocated resources in ESG. We place particular emphasis on the strategy and objectives of 'Sustainable Jewellery and Responsible Sourcing', with an aim of actively promoting sustainable development while expanding our business and upholding our corporate responsibility to protect the environment and care for the community. We also require our suppliers to comply with the Group's environmental protection policies, and through regular environmental assessments, we continuously strengthen corporate governance and improve management policies to ensure efficient, transparent, and responsible management. In future, the Group will continue to enhance the effectiveness of its sustainability strategies in pursuit of the social prosperity and the environmental well-being, and commit to moving towards a low-carbon future."
The "ESG Pledge" Scheme is organised by The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong and co-operated with Hong Kong Brand Development Council. The scheme aims to raise awareness and encourage the business and industrial sectors in Hong Kong to prioritise and practice sustainable development. It encourages the industry to adopt sustainability practices by signing the ESG Pledge and setting action commitments to enhance their ESG performance, working together to create a sustainable future.
