Supported “Po Leung Kuk Charity Cantonese Opera”

(10 November 2012) ------ Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited (“Lukfook“ / the “Group”) (Stock Code: 00590) is pleased to announce that the Group has donated HK$100,000 to Po Leung Kuk for supporting the “Po Leung Kuk Charity Cantonese Opera”, which aims to raise fund for “Po Leung Kuk Cantonese Opera Development Fund” to nurture Cantonese opera talents.

Po Leung Kuk is one of the long historical and well-established charitable organisations in Hong Kong, which provides quality, professional and diversified services to the community as its core mission. Through its over 230 service units, Po Leung Kuk now provides welfare, educational, recreational and cultural services to the public.

To cultivate talents of the new generation and promote the art of Cantonese opera, Po Leung Kuk has established the “Po Leung Kuk Cantonese Opera Development Fund”. During the event, the artists performed several classics of Cantonese opera and interacted with all audiences at the end of the event, which set a pioneering record for the greatest number of people singing Cantonese opera together.

“Po Leung Kuk Charity Cantonese Opera” was held at Hong Kong Coliseum on 10th November 2012 (Saturday). Ms. Hui Hiu Fai, Florence, SBS, JP, Under Secretary for Home Affairs, was invited as the officiating guest of the assembly. Mr. Wong Ho Lung, Danny, Deputy Chairman and Executive Director of the Group, presented the cheque of HKD100,000 on behalf of Lukfook Group and participated in the opening ceremony.
