(23 December 2016) — Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited (“Lukfook” / the “Group”) (Stock Code: 00590) is pleased to announce that its Lukfook Jewellery flagship store in Circle Square, Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, Macau, was awarded “Class A Certified Shop” in the 2016 “Certified Shops” Scheme organized by the Macao Consumer Council, affirming the Group’s efforts in enhancing brand reputation, product quality and customer services.

Mr. Wong Wai Sheung, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Group said, “As a jewellery company listed in Hong Kong, the Group is dedicated to providing high quality products and excellent services for customers that are in line with our brand promise and our motto “Exquisite Craftsmanship, Quality Services and Customer Orientation”. Since the establishment of our first Macau shop in 2002, our shops in Macau have been selected from over 1,000 merchants as “Class A Certified Shop” in the Certified Shops Scheme for many times. This is a strong proof that our commitment in product and service excellence has gained wide recognition from the Macao Consumer Council and customers.”

To protect the interests of consumers and enhance consumer confidence, the Consumer Arbitration Centre under the Macao Consumer Council introduced the “Adherent” Scheme. Shops applying for the “Adherent” Scheme are obliged to submit and resolve disputes at the Centre should any disputes arise. In order to promote honest business practices of the “Adherents”, a mechanism termed “Certified Shop” was launched by the Macao Consumer Council in 2001. “Adherents” that have good business records, abide by the relative “Code of Practice”, and pass the annual assessment by the Council will be awarded the emblems of “Certified Shop”. In addition, the Macao Consumer Council added a grading system to its assessment mechanism for the “Certified Shops” in 2011. Companies that receive the highest score in their respective category will be awarded “Class A Certified Shop”.
