(18 July 2017) — Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited (“Lukfook” / the “Group”) (Stock Code: 00590) is pleased to announce that the Group has been rewarded with “Gold Award” in the “Charter on External Lighting Award Scheme” (the “Charter”) which is first-ever launched by the Environment Bureau, acknowledging the Group’s contribution to reduce the possibility of light nuisance and energy consumption. Since April 2016, over 30 outlets of the Group have joined the “Charter” and pledged to switch off lighting installations of decorative, promotional, or advertising purposes which may affect the outdoor environment from midnight to 7 a.m. on the following day.

To address the problems of light nuisance and energy wastage caused by external lighting, the Environment Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR launched the “Charter on External Lighting” to encourage companies with external lighting installations for decorative, promotional or advertising purposes, which affect the outdoor environment, to switch off the lighting installations during a preset time, with the aim of enhancing public awareness of the issue of external lighting, and gradually bringing in positive changes to mitigate the problems caused by external lighting.
