(4 November 2015) —Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited (“Lukfook” / the “Group”) (Stock Code: 00590) is pleased to announce that the Group has successfully passed the audit of the “Hong Kong – Guangdong Cleaner Production Partners Recognition Scheme” co-organized by the Environment Bureau of Hong Kong, the Economic & Information Technology Commission of Guangdong Province and major trade and industry associations in Hong Kong, and has been commended as “Hong Kong – Guangdong Cleaner Production Partners (Supply Chain)” for the first time. Meanwhile, Luk Fook Jewellery (Guangzhou) Company Limited and Lee Fook Diamond & Jewellery (Guangzhou) Company Limited were again commended as “Hong Kong – Guangdong Cleaner Production Partners (Manufacturing)”.

About Luk Fook Jewellery (Guangzhou) Company Limited and Lee Fook Diamond & Jewellery (Guangzhou) Company Limited
These two companies are a subsidiary and a joint venture company of the Group respectively in Nansha District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, which principally engage in the production, processing and sales of jewellery products. They attained ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems Requirements and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System certifications in 2008 and 2009 respectively for their professionally recognized standards.
About the “Hong Kong – Guangdong Cleaner Production Partners Recognition Scheme”
The Environment Bureau of Hong Kong, in collaboration with the Economic & Information Technology Commission of Guangdong Province and major trade and industry associations in Hong Kong launched a five-year “Cleaner Production Partnership Programme” in 2008. Professional advice and technical support is provided under the Programme to encourage and facilitate Hong Kong-owned factories in the Pearl River Delta region to improve the air quality. To further galvanize the efforts in promoting cleaner production, the Hong Kong and Guangdong governments jointly launched the “Hong Kong – Guangdong Cleaner Production Partners Recognition Scheme” in 2009, awarding commendations of “Hong Kong – Guangdong Cleaner Production Partners (Manufacturing)” to enterprises which demonstrate active participation in cleaner production with outstanding performance. Sourcing enterprises which contribute to promoting cleaner production jointly with their Hong Kong-owned factory suppliers are granted the “Hong Kong - Guangdong Cleaner Production Partner (Supply Chain)" commendation.
